-cambiare idea-

Nota d'uso
La locuzione cambiare idea non va tradotta letteralmente con “to change idea”. L'espressione corretta nella maggior parte dei casi è “to change one's mind”: Ho cambiato idea, prendo del tè, I've changed my mind, I'll have tea (non I've changed idea, I'll have tea). L'espressione “to change one's idea” può essere usata come alternativa a “to change one's mind” nel caso di un cambiamento di opinione: Ho cambiato idea sui Verdi, hanno perso la testa ultimamente, I've changed my idea (o my mind) about the Greens, they've lost the plot recently.
